Colossians 3: 14-17; 23-24
14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns an spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,
24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

will you say I LOVE YOU???=)

oh yeah...also wanted to share something else...=) this question pop up in my mind when i was studying the very hard lecture notes=) hehe=)

WILL YOU SAY I LOVE YOU TO SOMEONE CLOSE---your family members???

I realised many of us find it really easy to write I LOVE YOU in sms, mms, emails, facebook messages, loveletters, etc. It's just sooo easy to say I LOVE YOU to our friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, cell members, church members, puppies, kittens, elephants, polar bears, tigers, hamsters, rabbits, etc...It's just sooo easy to say those three words to these people, i mean for many of us lar=)

Every night i will msn with my mummy in Malaysia, and the last few words would be "Goodnight mummy I LOVE YOU!!!" It has been something i have done almost all the days of my life and i realised i MUST do it before i sleep or just before i finish my day. Even if we don't get to msn, i will want to send my mummy an sms saying Goodnight mummy I LOVE YOU...i just realised i couldn't go on without saying those few words...coz there was one day i forgot to say and i felt like there's something missing, and then i realised, it was those last few words that i forgot to say=)

I don't know about you guys=) i know some people who i know have told me they just couldn't say out those three words to their parents or brothers or sisters. They say that they show love in a different way and deep in their hearts they know they love each other. I totally understand this statement. But one thing i do know from living 20+ years of my life...is that saying I LOVE YOU out loud to someone is just DIFFERENT=) especially our family!!! those three words are like magic words!!! every time i say those three words to my mummy, she'll say back those same three words and it just melts my heart everytime and i just know SHE REALLY LOVES ME and i have her full support all the way!!!=)

I believe God created those three magic words and He wants us to love everybody around us with those three words. Let's all learn to say I LOVE YOU out loud to our close ones...=) start one day and see the difference it makes in one's life. Trust me!!! don't need to care if people will think you are crazy...maybe your mum or dad when they hear you say those three words will say: "kid, are you ok? did something go wrong? or do you need something from us? do you need more money?" they may doubt you or you think they think you are crazy. But i tell you with great confidence, that THEY will smile in their hearts when they hear you say that!!! and their hearts will melt!!!=) let's not just make difference in friend's life, let's make difference also in the lives of our close ones, our family=)

task aka homework today: say I LOVE YOU out loud to your mummy or daddy or brother or sister...=)

He is trully geng!!!=)

i believe i have a testimony to share...big smile=) a testimony that must be shared and must be spread around!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!=)

first and foremost...i must annouce that I'M STILL ALIVEEE!!! ahhh!!!=) still breathing, still laughing, still talking, still sleeping, still mumbling, still chatting, still eating, still walking, still running, still salivating, still smelling my feet, still eating food with hands, still still still still ALIVE!!!

let me introduce myself more to those who don't know me..i'm a pharmacy student, i proudly say that=) now second year and it's really really really TOUGH!!! this week, i had two KILLING units, the amount of things we need to memorise is approximately 5cm of full pack notesss...almost every page need to memorise and and and...waliao!!!=) and partly because i didn't study much during the semester lar...my fault=) i broke down and really went down on my knees. IT was impossibleee!!! really impossibleee!!! how how how???!!! how to finish??? even if can finish, how how how to remember sooo much???!!! how???!!! HOW was my most used word with God in our conversation for the past two weeks...=) i asked sooo much until i want to vomit=)

but today i shall share what happen this morning and last night. I was studying HARD (i think lar) for this morning's paper since weds. Ok, maybe weds i slacked a bit but still i really studied! then thurs was full on!!! i wokeup in the morning (FORCEd myself), studied, ate, slept for one hour in the afternoon (i normally sleep 2 hours---afternoon nap) and studieddd!!! i even studied until my back pain larrr....means sit tooo long...ahhh!!! waliao!!! cramp cramp cramp!!! kept cramping the STUFF into my tiny monkey brain!!! sooo much sooo much!!! ahhh!!!

it was all well and fine...weds and thurs whole day i felt happy glad energetic and believed had faith everything will be fine!!! i could do it!!! i was really happy!!! and i just felt peace all the time, like don't have exam kinda feeling...then...after dinner, i started feeling tired edi...so i went shower...after shower...did my quiet time, came out and studied in the hall as i always used do. Then then...i don't know why, but as i read through the notes, i just couldn't absorb what i was reading at all!!! everything seem to be blur and just words...no heart!!!

I WAS FINDING MY HEART!!! my HEART was not there and i knew it was not there!!! i don't know why!!! i was really desperate for God, really really desperate for God...it was already time of frustration, time of disappointment, time of NO TIME!!! ahhh!!! no time liao!!! i still got alot alot haven't read!!! HOW???!!! and my brain wasn't functioning at all, it was telling me: "trecia, I DON'T WANT TO WORK EDI!!! I QUIT!!!" waliao...imagine your brain telling you he/she wants to quit!!! and my body was also saying: "trecia trecia, i'm really tired, i'm really tired, can you let me rest???!!" i was like: "WHAT???!!! you both want to rest at this time, when i need to finish everything by tomoro morning???!!! are you crazy???!!! please lar please lar...tahan a few more hoursss, then i let you rest okok???!!!" but both of them insisted and i couldn't do much yeah...so i went to sleep for one hour, then wokeup, the same thing, my brain very naughty!!! say don't want means don't want...so i gave up and say ok lar, i go sleep 3.5hours then wakeup and continue...i had to finish!!!

so so so...i slept, wokeup at 530am in the morning, CONTINUED!!! went tru all the major reactions and process, memo memo memo...didn't study the last two lecture notes coz it just couldn't go in. My body was tired!!! really tired!!! everything tired!!! Then i STOPPED at 810am. STOPPED everything...and i went to read my bible and this time i really SURRENDERED!!! coz i really couldn't do anything else, really couldn't. I told God, nah that's all i can do, I SURRENDER...saying these few words for the millionth time...this time, i said it with all my heart, coz i knew that was the only thing i could do already, nothing else!!! and then, i went, my hands holding on to an encourgement note from an angel=) i held it tight!!!...

when i opened my front door, right before my eyes, i saw HAZEL!!! ahhh!!! ahhh!!! sooo yham!!! ahhh!!! she was right before my eyes!!! ahhh!!!=) we hugged each other and she said jiayou!!!=) love herrrr!!!!!!!!! i tell you right from that moment i stepped out from my front door, i knew God was with me!!! He was He was!!! no fear no fear!!! ahhh!!!=) then, as usual a few of us gathered and we prayed, this time each of us really prayed with a sincere heart and a heart to want daddy to help us!!! a heart that believed!!! really believed and surrendered!!!=) i walked in the exam hall with NO FEAR AT ALL. I was the first one to walk into the exam hall, and i walked in with heads held high!!!=) as i read the paper during the reading time, i started writing...i don't normally write during reading time, mainly because my brain can't function properly during the first few minutes de...but i was writing!!! and i was really writing!!! i actually couldn't believe i was writing...haha=) and then when it was time to start, i just kept on writing non-stop...non-stop...really non-stop...there were sooo many questions i didn't understand and didn't know how to do, BUT my right hand was writing non-stop!!! waliao!!! i tell you!!! it wasn't me doing the paper just now, it really wasn't me!!! God was doing the paper for me!!! He was writing for me!!! ahhh!!! i never really felt like that before hey!!! and it was just amazing!!! i don't know if i will pass the paper BUT i BELIEVE GOD will help me pass the paper!!!=) i just believe it!!!

and when i stepped foot into my house, right in front of my eyes was a box of tiramisu handmade by my two lovely wonderful kids (i call them my kids, they call me mummy)!!! ahhh!!! this semester i have been blessed sooo much!!! sooo much!!! the blessings i received is beyond what anybody could ever comprehand!!! my SIAO leader's vision (GIVING) for our cell came true and my brothers and sisters in church showered me with love like i'm a small little baby!!! my fingers and my toes are not enough to count the blessings!!! ahhh!!!=) God sent me angelsss!!! He sent the best people and put the MOST GENG one's around me to bless and love me!!! I want to give thanks to my MOST GENG DADDY!!! He is really trully undoubtly GENG!!!=)

Cultivating a God-like mindset in exams

I received this email today from a friend of a friend. After reading it, I was amazed at how great our God is. We may be different people and miles apart, but we are all still one in Christ. We have the same Holy Spirit living in us and teaching us.
I couldn't have written it better myself and I'm sharing this email as an encouragement to us Christians that we are all going through this together; we are not alone. =)
_______________________________________________________

Hey guys!

C here btw. =) To those who don’t really get like, emails from me often. Hi!!!! Lol.

Anyway. It’s about twenty minutes until midnight on the eve of my first paper, and some of you may have went for your first papers already but I got reminded on a little word I received once as I was in a conversation earlier and I felt like this needs to be heard!

The conversation was about a portfolio, where creative students showcase their material, their life’s work in order to impress their prospective Unis and employees so that they get jobs in the future, and how stressful it may be as one may feel like their material is inadequate, their arrangement messy, or their work last minute.

Everyone of us gets those in pre-exam jitters too! You feel inadequate, you feel like you’re ill prepared and you rather trudge into the exam hall rather than walk into it.

But let’s put this into God’s perspective.

Gifts, talents are all God given. He’s placed them into us before we were even born, and He’s weaved intricate manners and ways we are to refine these talents into skills we apply in life. Skilled hands (for you doctors/dentists), creative minds (for you artists), math heads (you nerds who do engineering. Lol) practical problem-solvers (COME ON COMMERCE STUDENTS GIVE ME A HIGH FIVE), writers and presenters (law students woot!), wisdom, memory power and will power, let me go on naming we can go all night.

Think the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30).

And in Biblical perspective we are given these gifts for God’s glory. Not our own. Not to get us a job. Not to get us a grade. Forget that. Committing your God given talents to diligent, good and practical use will not only get us the jobs, not just the grades but the ability to excel in them, to rack up testimony after testimony about how God’s worked miracles in your education and future career. It’s our outlet to shine!

And back to the portfolio, it’s a compilation of works, applications of our God-given talents which have been refined for so many years on end, through the teachers who’ve taught us, the leaders who led us and the family and friends who’ve guided us. I said that this portfolio shouldn’t be seen from OUR perspective, an opportunity to impress someone with OUR work...

But rather it’s an opportunity to impress someone with GOD’S WORK IN US, a chance to show the world that I am a testimony in the making, see my works, see what He has abundantly blessed me with, and we are NOT going to be shy about them. Not for pride’s sake, but because it gives HIM glory.

Same like our exams. We, through these end-of-semester days should not see these as an opportunity to get grades, HDs, but as ANOTHER chance for us to give our God-given wisdom and knowledge our BEST shot, THE VERY BEST that He deserves, the VERY BEST that He will acknowledge and reward!

And it’s this effort which God sees, not the preparedness. Not the neatness of your notes. Not the books you read. But it’s the belief that whatever I have, I will sow, whatever God’s placed in me, I will apply. Whatever those God-positioned lecturers told me which I remember, I will write, and whatever I may forget, wherever I may feel inadequate, wherever I feel week, HIS STRENGTH IS MADE PERFECT in me.

And it’s this belief where we can truly excel. It’s this belief which makes us not trudge the winter-y cold, but rather stand tall and shout out that I am here, another opportunity to shine for God. Another testimony is on the way. No wasted effort. Nothing’s forgotten, its mere human perspective. God is mighty. God is able to guide me to and through this paper and the next, and the next, and the next. Although you may humanly feel tired, humanly inadequate.

If you feel tired, if you feel human, remember these verses:

In His kindness God called you to share in His eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, He will restore, support and strengthen you, and He will place you on a firm foundation.
(1 Peter 5:10)

He gives power to the weak, and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.
But those who trust in the Lord will find NEW strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.
(Isaiah 40:29-31)

Guys. Our exams are NOT just for grades. We’re placed where we are to shine for His glory. We are walking testimonies. We stand out from the crowd because we have an awesome God on our backs. We’re the salt and the light. Let’s be influential. Let’s be confident that He will pull us through.

Let’s also commit our exams to prayer. Let’s remember to pray for one another and be open even to pray for our friends who may not have share the same faith. Who knows, we may be able to share so much more and bring them to know this awesome God we know.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He’s done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 4:6-8)

Amen?

I hope this encouraged. Happy exam-ing. Happy shining for God this season!

Thanking Him for the testimonies to come.

I want to see you
I want to see you

To see You high and lifted up
Shining in the light of Your glory

SURELY

Psalm 23

"The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,

He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
"

This is one of the many promises that God has given to us!
In the midst of exams, study, study and more study. Many of us are stress, BUT...

Let us have FAITH in GOD.

GOD IS ABLE!!!
He is our shepherd. Who better than our Father in Heaven to guide us and lead us?
SuReLy! Goodness and Love WILL follow us ALL the days of our life! and we WILL dwell in the HOUSE of the LORD FOREVER!!!
So don't stress, don't worry:) Have Faith in GOD!
